It is with great pleasure that we present a report on Cape Verde Television (TCV), about our smart city project, “Nos Zona Smart”.
According to the United Nations, up to 70% of the world’s population will live in urban areas, with the number of cities tripling by 2050, and two-thirds of these cities will be located in Africa and Asia.
Cities are responsible for generating around 80% of global GDP and for emitting around 70% of CO2 emissions. However, they also offer significant opportunities for economic, technological and innovation growth.
The solution we propose is the development of smart cities, which aim to provide a better quality of life for citizens, reduce CO2 emissions and encourage the creation of jobs and economic income.
Nos Zona Smart is a proof of concept of our smart city model developed by smart city Foundations with Intellectual property register under Loid Solutions company

“Urbanization is a powerful driver of economic development and social mobility. It is also catalyst for technological progress, as we see in cities globally, Africa is no exception.
We are already home to the world’s fastest-growing cities. It is estimated that half of Africans will be living in cities by 2030. This irreversible trend is fundamentally positive for our continent’s prosperity. But we have to think ahead. It is up to us to plan adequately for urban expansion by anticipating the higher standard of public services, housing, livability, and economic opportunity that our citizens expect and deserve”. – Akinwumi Adesina
Transforming African cities is critical to transforming Africa as a whole. We have the skills and expertise to do this smart and innovative. We need to come together to achieve this goal.
Africa’s time is now.
As technology drives mobility and connectivity in urbanized societies, African cities continuously seek to establish new infrastructure and city systems that will enable transition, and position them as global leaders and next generation cities.
